They are growing rapidly, this is a very exciting time to join a business which is looking to double the size of its turnover in the next five years. They are now looking for a dynamic, inspirational and experienced Operations Leader to assist with the delivery of their growth plan and to join their winning management team.

The company is leading engineering sub contract manufacturer who offer high quality precision machining and sheet metal services to Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Medical and Pharmaceutical industries. They are also experts in robotic welding, welded fabrications and CNC laser cutting.

As Operations Manager, you will assist the Managing Director to run the company and be accountable for a team of around 40 people throughout all areas of operations. You will be customer focused and will manage the operation within budget focusing on on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. You will develop an efficient production strategy incorporating robust processes and procedures to maximize efficiency across planning, quality, purchasing, production engineering and maintenance. You will lead a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Experience

  • Minimum five years operations and manufacturing leadership, ideally machining [ CNC horizontal and vertical machine turning ], welding, fabrication, laser cutting and assembly
  • Continuous Improvement – Lean , six sigma
  • Business Improvement Experience
  • Production scheduling and capacity management
  • CNC programming, CAM software, welding, laser cutting and fabrication
  • Bespoke production and project management

As an excellent communicator, you will want to make things happen and improve process, efficiency and delivery. You will be an inspirational, enthusiastic and dynamic people manager, you will be proactive and want to ensure your team is efficient and motivated. You will have a modern approach to operations, and you will have worked with SAP / CRM systems. They are looking for a good educational background and an enthusiastic “can do” attitude. You will have the ability to communicate at senior level with key corporate customers.
