Of course, this is all subject to change depending on what the Government advises, but even if we do have to go into imposed lockdown, we are adaptable enough that we can carry on regardless.
Things may be out of kilter, but that doesn’t mean that they must grind to a halt. Your recruitment process can go ahead as planned but just with a little adaption to your normal way of working.
Telephone interviews can go ahead as normal. You can still get a good feel for whether the person should progress to the next stage and whether they are a good fit for your company. If you need any help with this, please just ask us.
This stage would normally be conducted face-to-face, but in keeping with Government guidelines, video interviewing is now advised. You can still produce a successful outcome from video interviewing without putting yourselves at personal risk. We have Zoom video facilities, which we are more than happy to let others use for free. What we are advising all our candidates and clients is that, rather than have a knee-jerk reaction and pulling the plug on potential job offers, simply delay the start date instead. Once this has all blown over, the position will still need filling, so don’t let it rob you of a colleague who is a good fit and will play an integral part in building the business up again.
