Due to major expansion my client is looking for a dynamic sales winner who will focus on ‘spearheading’ their international sales growth strategy alongside the Sales Director. The person is more important than your market knowledge, they are looking for an outstanding corporate hunter, who can be developed in to a Global Sales Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of UK and international customers within the marine, naval and defence industries and be expected to visit these customers on a frequent basis, with around 30% of your time reserved for client travel. We envisage that around 60% of your time will be dedicated to identifying & winning new customers with the remaining focusing on strategic account management. You will manage some of the World’s leading defence customers dealing with the MoD, Babcock’s, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, Thyssen Krupp, Saab, Electric Boat etc and their counterparts in different regions across the world. You will also assume the ‘senior’ position within the global sales team, acting as the bridging gap between the commercial team and the Sales Director. This will involve further accountability by offering your support, guidance and on-going coaching during the project sales process! They are looking to future proof their global sales team, they are interested in talking with people who want to develop rapidly in to leadership.
The successful candidate will have experience of selling engineering products or solutions and of winning INTERNATIONAL multi-million projects! This is a designed in solution sell, selling to large complex organisations, with a long lead time and multi layered decision making. We are looking to speak with candidate who aspire to be a Sales Leader (Sales Director or Commercial Director), current man-management is not essential, but ‘leadership’ qualities are a MUST! You will understand the nuances of navigating large complex organisations like Babcock’s and BAE. If you have worked for or sold to these companies this will give you a distinct advantage, however our client will always recruit outstanding commercial talent; people who will always go the extra mile to win.
