NEWSLETTER: MARCH 2020 EDITION

NEWSLETTER: MARCH 2020 EDITION

Hello, and welcome to the Mercury Hampton newsletter, our monthly insight into what’s happened with us this month, what’s new in recruitment, and maybe the odd link to a funny cat video if we have the time.

MERCURY HAMPTON VERSION 5.0

As we mentioned in last month’s newsletter, we’ve now completed our fifth office expansion in two years and welcomed two new eagles to the nest. A partitioning wall between our office and the adjoining office was removed, a completely new state-of-the-art phone system was installed, and everyone is now the proud owner of a personalised MH cactus on their desk! Throw in a continental breakfast on our first day, and it’s safe to say that we started life in the new Nest the right way. This latest expansion means that the office has more than doubled in capacity, which is great because we expect to recruit a few more people before the end of the year.

Special thanks must go to Jack, who worked tirelessly to ensure the project went off without a hitch, even giving up his weekend to give us the awesome office that we have now.

Most importantly, though, was the arrival of the Super Nintendo Mini and the Street Fighter II tournament. To see who the victor was between Matt and Chris slogging it out on Killer Instinkt, and to see better images of our shiny new office, go to our Instagram page and make sure you click the ‘Follow’ button while you’re there.

HAS YOUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS ADAPTED TO THE TIMES?

The way we do business has changed dramatically over the last few years, but recruitment is still firmly stuck in the last century. What can you do to ensure your recruitment process isn’t failing? Click on the image below to find out more.

M-M-M-MY CARONA!

Sorry to use the C Word, but it’s been kind of hard to ignore. How has it affected your business?

No sooner had Brexit disappeared as the buzzword of every media outlet around the world than it was replaced by a new one: Coronavirus. To be fair, it’s generated the same kind of hysteria as Brexit too. What started out as a few people in China sneezing turned into the owners of hand sanitizer making so much money they’re rubbing their hands together (ba-dum-tish), Forrest Gump shutting himself away in Australia, and people stockpiling bog rolls of all things.

Of course, that’s a comedic overview of the situation, the true effect is much grimmer. Premature deaths, the stock exchange went into meltdown, and virtually every business on the planet, from a corner shop to international conglomerates, has been affected in a negative way. Of course, it’s only natural to be afraid of the unknown, but the best thing any of us can do is to Keep Calm and Carry On, because hysteria will only complicate the issue further. Listen to the advice from experts, wash your hands thoroughly, and isolate yourself if you have any Covid-19-like symptoms. Now is not the time to make social pariahs of each other, it’s time to pull together and look after one another. Here’s a link to the official UK Government website for advice on dealing with the Coronavirus. Be safe out there.

THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

Would you let any part of your business run at any less than 80%? What about your recruitment process…? Click on the image below to find out more.

That’s it for now. Hopefully, we’ll see you next month for more tidbits, brain dumps, and incoherent ramblings.

See y’all soon,

The Mercury Hampton Team
