AREA SALES MANAGER/FIELD SALES ENGINEER – INDUSTRIAL

The Spec...

  • Pump and Rotating Equipment Manufacturer
  • We’ll consider engineers looking to move into sales
  • £30,000 to £40,000 Basic salary (experience dependent) – OTE £45,000
  • Home Office, Company Car, Pension, Laptop / iPad, Mobile Phone, Credit Card and Bonus
  •  Midlands or Southern-based: Stafford, Birmingham, Derby, Worcester, Bristol, Reading, Oxford, Northampton.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mercury Hampton is working exclusively with this client. Our Client is multi-million T/O manufacturer of pumps and rotating products; they are used in a wide variety of industries such as oil & gas, chemical, nuclear, defence, marine, pharmaceutical and food & beverage.

As Area Sales Manager, you will have full control and autonomy to manage all day to day business activities relating to national industrial customers. This will include managing accounts with major heavy industrial customers. Whilst managing your allocated accounts you will be a proactive sales professional who enjoys hunting and unearthing new clients and new projects, you will be selling full pump systems and design services as well as winning the associated service contracts. Ideally, you will have experience of pumps moreover you will be a dynamic and enthusiastic new business winner.

This will be a home-based position but will require frequent office visits [Midlands] to ensure you are able to work closely with project, design and application teams. This customer base is currently generating a turnover in the region of £2M with room for upselling and crossing selling opportunities. We anticipate most of your time will be focused on new business acquisition and then the management of the new customers you win.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Experience of customer-facing sales.
  • Prepared to travel throughout the UK
  • Dynamic High Energy
  • New Business Focused
  • Technical / Engineering Background
  • Ideally sold or worked with Pumps
  • Good pump, electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, very organized and able to self-manage.
  • Marine engineering qualifications would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven track record of winning new business with large industrial customers
