Job Title: General Manager
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Healthcare, etc
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer
Location: South West
THE OPPORTUNITY
We recently secured a retained assignment with a leading UK Manufacturing business to help find their next General Manager. We are searching for a resilient, business leader with extensive change management experience along with a significant commercial awareness.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As the General Manager, you will have strategic responsibility for all aspects of the business; sales and marketing, customer service, design and installation, ensuring that all key business goals are met.
Key Duties
- Setting goals in line with the Group’s objectives that deliver achievement of profit targets and other key performance measures
- Translate the Group’s strategic plans into defined operational plans for the business
- Define performance management KPI’s to monitor success against overall business objectives, reporting to the board on key activities towards business goals
- To work closely with the manufacturing team at Stonehouse to ensure a ‘one company’ approach that is customer-focused.
- Working closely with the Group Sales and Marketing team, support the sales team in increasing sales through extensive marketing and trade shows, benchmarking our competitors.
- Deliver the extensive New Product Implementation, Business Improvement and E-transformation plans
- Ensuring the business hits key measures in terms of stock, cash and credit control.
- Develop and implement plans to increase efficiency, improve customer service and reduce costs across all aspects of the business.
- Coach and mentor the management team to deliver improved management of all aspects of the business
- Work with functional managers to maximise employee engagement, retention and skills development
- Establish and develop a safety-focused culture, ensuring compliance in all areas but with particular regard to field-based installation teams.
- Develop a process-driven culture to drive efficiency and remove waste
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
In order to be successful as the General Manager, you’ll have the following skills and experience:
- You’ll be a resilient, experienced business leader with extensive commercial and general management experience. Specific industry experience is highly desirable, with experience of driving through profit improvement through a process-driven culture with high engagement
- Analytical, strategic thinker and planner, with a ‘hands-on’ strong leadership style, leading by example
- Customer-focused with a strong emphasis on ‘safety first’, quality and cost management
- Visionary, with the ability to engage staff through their passion to succeed
