Our Client is a leading global manufacturing company used across the world. Due to increased growth, an outstanding career opportunity has become available to join their engineering team as a Process Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimising current processes, and maintaining process documents. Ultimately, your job is to implement and maintain the efficiency of new and existing production machinery to increase overall equipment efficiency and reduce cost.
As the Process Engineer, you should have extensive experience in automation techniques, excellent technical skills, and high-level analytical skills. As a top-class Process Engineer, you will analyse a process system and implement simple yet effective changes to boost production. OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Working closely with the Technical assistant and automation engineers to improve processes, draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
- Control implementation of new equipment to ensure they meet the required standards and efficiencies
- Work closely with the training officer to ensure the best proactive is trained out to all relevant personal.
- Design and test process upgrades and new process systems.
- Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Perform optimisation tests.
- Develop routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
- Develop standardised operating instructions for the upgrade process.
- Provide process documents and standard operating procedures.
- Meeting with Department managers to assess existing process challenges.
- Take responsibility for your own and your colleagues Health & Safety.
- Report any Health & Safety breaches witnessed or concerns regarding unsafe practices to site management.
- Responsible for handling equipment back in a safe and hygienic state.
- To be flexible setting a good example to colleagues and assist other staff and departments when required.
- Assist with the organisation of departmental holiday planning within company guidelines to ensure a low impact upon the business.
- Maintain good communication links/working relationships within the department.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 5-years (minimum) Process Engineering experience in a related industry is ideally required.
- You should hold an engineering qualification of some kind, maybe a Degree or HNC educated. With a good knowledge of automation systems.
- You’ll have proven working experience with automation and Robotics.
- You’ll have demonstratable experience in improving manufacturing processes across a face-paced manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working within a plastic’s manufacturing business is also highly desirable.
- You’ll have experience with Lean, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma and will be certified (Desirable)
- Previous automation experience and an understanding of the injection moulding process
- Hands-on pragmatic style and ability to influence at all levels
- Skilled communicator and motivator
- Comfortable with speaking up within a peer group when required.
