THE PACKAGE

  • Quality Engineer (PPAP, APQP, 8D, SPC…)
  • Basic salary; £30,000 – £35,000 + Benefits
  • Global manufacturing company supplying into the Automotive Industry
  • Location; West Midlands, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Birmingham

This business is a Global manufacturing powerhouse to the prestigious Automotive industry, supplying to some of the world’s most luxurious brands worldwide.  Located at their site in North Birmingham, they are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer who has the previous experience working within the face-paced Automotive sector (desirable). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to develop a long-term career in an excellent business that can facilitate constant learning and progression opportunities.

As the Quality Engineer, you’ll report to the UK QHSE Manager and you will be responsible for ensuring the supplied parts conform to the company’s high-quality standards and meet the engineer’s drawings and customers specification. You will be tasked with continually improving the quality of products and services provided to the company’s global customer base. You will be responsible for the company’s quality management systems and ISO accreditation. In return, you will have the opportunity to work for a well-respected Automotive company with an ambitious global growth strategy in place.

 

YOU WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Take a lead role in managing the companies QA strategy in order to maintain the company’s high standards.
  • Work alongside internal teams and external clients to work through any quality issues or investigations.
  • Drive quality improvement throughout the business and implement techniques such as PPAP, 5 whys, 8D, PPAP, CAPA, FMEA and Ishikawa.
  • Report any health & safety breaches witnessed or concerns regarding unsafe practices to site management.
  • Undertake quality audits and supplier inspections where necessary
  • Carry out final quality inspections on products and systems
  • Manage quality metrics and KPI’s
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Control of SAP master data for the allocated portfolio to ensure stock optimization delivery of customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Support the department and business with duties aligned to tour skills and responsibilities as requested
  • Cover/support colleagues as requested

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment – preferably in the Automotive Industry and quality standard TS16949/ IATF16949.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • MRP operational skills and experience, preferably SAP
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse teams and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Analytical skills – be able to make recommendations and key decisions working within time constraints.
  • Knowledge/experience of LEAN principles (advantageous)
