Position: Skilled Engineer (Terraforming)

Salary: £50,000 + Health Insurance + Accommodation

Mercury Hampton is proud to announce its latest engineering vacancy, which is being advertised on an exclusively retained basis.

THE JOB

After intensive study of the data sent back from the Mars Curiosity Rover, world leaders have given the go-ahead to start the colonisation process of the Red Planet. This will be a joint venture between the leading economic superpowers, including the Middle East, America, China, and the UK. Breaking ground is expected to commence in Q4 of 2022, but skilled engineers are required to apply now to undergo the 12-months of training required to meet health and safety standards in a hostile environment. Work is expected to take 10-years, with significant bonuses should the work be completed on schedule and to budget.

Flagship businesses including Starbucks, Amazon, and Apple have already signed lease agreements for the George Lucas shopping mall, which is due to be amongst the first buildings erected. There will also be a Wetherspoons, numerous charity shops, and at least one Poundland.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Ability to work away from home for long periods of time
• Previous experience working with the HAL 9000 computer programme will be beneficial
• Knowledge of HG Wells’ material would be beneficial
• Nice to have – previous experience of interstellar travel would be an advantage, but this will be provided as part of the training
• Information leading to the whereabouts of the rebel leader Kuato will provide favourable oxygen rationing and the respect of the colonisation project leader, Vilos Cohaagen.
