This company are at the forefront of engineering innovation and some of their group divisions have doubled turnover during the last four years. Our client is global multi-million manufacturer of bespoke engineering products for applications throughout the energy market, offshore oil and gas, chemical and Refineries, Power Turbine, Renewable Energy, Nuclear, Hydrocarbon and related industries. You will also manage major distributors, major OEMs, and major end users. This group of businesses currently has a turnover of more than €2Billion and is continuing to expand via organic growth and acquisition. Due to major expansion my client is looking for a dynamic Sales Leader based in Houston, Texas to manage, build, develop, and lead multinational sales teams across multiple locations across the USA. As well as managing a global team of key Account Managers you will work closely with the Customer Services Director and the Global Business Development team.
Our client works with some of the World’s largest customers in the downstream and upstream oil and gas market, petrochemical and refineries, power, Turbine OEMs, nuclear and Hydrocarbon markets. You will manage and build relationships with key customers in the USA working with your sales team to develop new customers and penetrate new sectors. Liaising with global key account and business development teams to secure USA and international, big-ticket sales of products and complex engineering services.
The Role
This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Sales Leader to further develop their career with a world leading business and true engineering innovator! You will define and implement strategies and action plans to achieve sales and margin targets. They are experiencing rapid growth, and are renowned across the World for their engineering capabilities, reliability, and quality. You will need to assess the current USA sales team and then make a growth plan and recruit.
They are looking for an outstanding individual who is driven and ambitious who can lead and inspire their team to develop outstanding relationships with major complex organisations, proactively looking for new projects and cross selling into USA major accounts and leveraging these relationships into international sales opportunities. Collaborating with other team members, European and Global KAMs. Commercial, Engineering, Operational, Finance and leadership team to achieve agreed goals. You will prepare, recommend, and negotiate complex big-ticket pricing, terms and conditions for quotations and contracts. Upskilling and training your Key Account teams to sell complex engineering solutions. You will develop and implement your sales and marketing plan, liaising with marketing and customers to assess customer satisfaction.
This will be a home-based position with regular travel throughout the sales region. We anticipate that you will travel 40% of the time, you will take responsibility for high level negotiation and complex solution selling into a variety of energy related markets across USA and the World, as well as determining new markets and opportunities further afield. You will work with the global sales team and innovation team to develop new products and new markets. Working closely with major end users and with their supply base to drive product specification, after market openings and assisting the global KAM team to close business and identify major project opportunities. As this is primarily a complex project-based sell, we do require the successful candidate to spend a couple of days each month working with the design and concept teams, manufacturing, and project teams at their office in Texas.
The Candidate
You and your team will be responsible for a portfolio of major petrochemical companies within the upstream and downstream oil and gas, refinery, power [turbine], chemical and nuclear industries. We envisage that around 40% of your team’s time will be dedicated to identifying & winning new customers with the remaining focusing on strategic account management. You will also assume the ‘senior’ leadership position within the USA sales team as well as an ambassador and mentor for the global sales teams. This will involve further accountability by offering your support, guidance and on-going coaching during the project sales process and adding value and direction to the marketing teams.
The successful candidate will have experience and a proven track record of growing and leading USA sales teams in technical engineering led solution sales, you will be an inspirational, dynamic sales leader. You will have sold engineering products or solutions and or major key account management of international customers dealing with multi-million projects! Our client is a world leading precision engineering company, they work with complex flow control components and systems, ideally you will be from an associated product group e.g., pumps, valves, actuators, instrumentation, mechanical engineered components that go into critical engineering customers. You will be a dynamic, organized people manager you will lead and inspire your team across USA, EMEA and the World.
You will ideally be educated to Degree standard in an engineering and or technical discipline, we are looking to speak to dynamic sales leaders with ambition and drive, who want to self-develop and grow with a World leading manufacturer.
